April Fool's ( if only)

I came into the hospital on Tuesday with severe pain. Several tests indicated that I have pancreatitis, the origin of which is still not clear. The tests also showed that the chemotherapy is no longer working. There are no other reasonable chemotherapy options for this kind of cancer. A new phase begins which involves watchful waiting and treating symptoms as they arise.

In the short term we hope that they find a way to treat the pancreatitis or alleviate the symptoms so that I can go home this week.

Sally, David and I are thinking good thoughts for you and sending you best wishes. Yale seems so long ago and yet almost like yesterday at the same time.

Dear Sally,
You are very courageous to keep updating the blog. My husband and I wish you our best.

This sucks. Maybe without all the chemo and other tx you will have fewer side effects and more time feeling comfortable? I think about you all the time and I want to give you a big hug. Not that that would help anything. I love you.

Dear Sal,

As a fellow raspberry hater, I send you a virtual hug of massive proportion. I also send you a blue berry buckle with whipped cream. You inspire me.

I have been thinking of and praying for you since rooming with you and being discharged from MSKCC on Good Friday, April 6. My recovery is painful and slow going. I am keeping my chin up and waiting until I feel somewhat normal again. You have been an inspiration to me. As I stated to you and your sister Diana "you were the best roommate I have ever had.
